Light tableWelcome to the Syracuse University Early Education & Child Care Center (EECCC). Our center has provided a warm and welcoming environment for young children and their families for over 45 years. Our goal is to provide a high-quality, responsive and developmentally-appropriate program for young children. We provide training and employment opportunities for students and collaborate with in our community. Center staff build strong relationships with the children and partner with their families to assure the strongest possible programming. We are responsive to children’s needs and work to incorporate all of the domains of learning into the children’s everyday experiences at the center.

EECCC currently serves 60 children, including six infants, 26 toddlers and 28 preschoolers. We provide full-time care to the children of Syracuse University faculty, staff and students. The center’s facility is unique, offering a variety of small and large spaces for play. Our large, fenced-in outdoor space has a lower and upper hill area with natural playscapes and gardens.

You will see teachers engaging with and observing children’s play and documenting their conversations, questions and concerns. Teachers use observations and photos to develop curriculum, long-term projects or invitations to learning that support the children’s continued interest and engagement in a certain topic or area of interest. Children become confident when they are given the freedom to test their theories over and over again. In addition, we provide expressive art materials that allow children to communicate their feelings, explore different concepts and discover themselves as learners.

We look forward to the possibility of having your child with us in the future. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information about our program.  Our phone number is (315)443-4482.
